The Experimental Areas, e-Beam, Ion Monitors (XEI) section of the Beam Instrumentation (BI) group is responsible for the development, production, installation and commissioning of the beam instrumentation that measure the parameters of the beams extracted to the SPS and PS experimental areas. The section is also in charge of the LEIR and AD electron coolers as well as the ionisation profile monitors in these machines which are needed to measure the performance of the coolers.

        For the ELENA project, the section will provide a new low energy electron cooler, transverse profile monitors and is actively pursuing R&D in low energy (100 keV) beam diagnostics needed for the new experimental lines.
